PRIVATE EXCURSION WITH TOUR MANAGER + LOCAL GUIDE

Stretching across 117 islands, built literally on the water, composed of more than 1200 bridges, more than 400 canals, the city of St. Mark, the glory of an incredible Maritime Republic, the city of the Carnival, of Tintoretto, of the bridge of the sighs, this is Venice, a unique place on the earth which proudly carries the title of the most Romantic city in the world.

We offer you a private customized visit of the most spectacular monuments and sights of the Venitian lagoon, including the district of St. Mark with its Basilica and Ducal Palace, the Rialto Bridge, the Grand Canal, the district of Cannaregio and  a boat ride to the island of Murano for the visit of a glass factory.

Your tour manager will pick you up at the port of Venice and take you on a private water taxi to the district of St. Mark, the heart of the city. You will enjoy a walking tour of the area , reaching the Bridge of the Sighs, the Rialto bridge, the Fenice Opera House, the Academy bridge and many other highlights of the city.

You will continue your exploration of the lagoon with the visit of a glass factory in Murano, a small island of the Venitian lagoon famous all over the world for a very unique product, the glass. Murano’s reputation as a center for glassmaking was born when the Venetian Republic, fearing fire and the destruction of the city’s mostly wooden buildings, ordered glassmakers to move their foundries to Murano in 1291.
We give our clients the unique opportunity of visiting an authentic glass factory on the island, attend to a demonstration made by the best glassblowing masters and spend some time even in the store of the factory.
You will board on a private water taxi and reach the island in about 30 minutes. The English speaking staff of the factory will take good care of you and follow you through the visit and in the shop as well. At the end of the visit your private water taxi will take you back to the area of St. Mark.

Time for lunch. Your tour manager will give you an excellent recommendation for an excellent typical Venitian meal.

A professional licensed local guide will be with you in the afternoon for the visit of the Ducal Palace, once the Residence of  the Doge of Venice, the supreme authority of the “Serenissima” Republic.

Started in 1309, the palace housed political institutions of the Republic of Venice until the Napoleonic occupation of the city in 1797 and it is today the main museum of the city with its Ducal apartments decorated with frescoes by Tintoretto and Veronese, its Senate and with its jails connected to the Palace through the bridge of the Sighs.

You’ll continue your visit with the main church of the city, the Basilica of St. Mark. Cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Venice it is famous to be one of the best examples of Byzantine architecture with its beautiful gilded mosaics.

Constructed in 828, when Venetian merchants stole the supposed relics of Mark the Evangelist from Alexandria of Egypt, the church also houses a museum located on the rooftop with the original Horses of St. Mark, bronze statues of four horses which were exposed in the hippodrome of Constantinople and which the Venetians brought to their city after the 4th crusade.
